Restorative dentistry continues to move toward materials that can simplify clinical workflows without compromising esthetics. The latest addition to this space is MARK3® Chroma Chameleon™ One Shade Composite, launched by Cargus International, a dental-products supplier and the company behind the MARK3 brand.
One shade designed for multiple clinical situations
According to Cargus, Chroma Chameleon is a light-cure universal restorative composite designed to blend with surrounding tooth structure across the VITA A1–D3 shade range. The company says the material uses spherical fillers and Optimal Light Diffraction Technology to achieve its shade-adapting effect.
The product is indicated by Cargus for Class I–V anterior and posterior restorations, making it applicable to a broad range of routine restorative procedures.

Key product features
According to the manufacturer’s specifications, Chroma Chameleon offers:
- One-shade shade matching across VITA A1–D3
- Use in anterior and posterior restorations
- Spherical filler technology with optimized light diffraction
- High polishability
- Tooth-like opalescence and permanent gloss
- 200% radiopacity, according to Cargus
- Handling characteristics intended to support placement, sculpting, finishing and polishing
- A 4-g syringe format, with compules listed by Cargus as forthcoming. (
Cargus also publishes physical-property figures for the material, including 121 MPa flexural strength, 294 MPa compressive strength and a 9.5 GPa modulus of elasticity. These are manufacturer-reported specifications rather than independent comparative test results.
Potential workflow advantages
The main proposition behind Chroma Chameleon is workflow simplification.
Instead of maintaining numerous composite shades for everyday cases, a practice can use a universal shade for many restorations.
