7MAGIC has announced the launch of SonicPod Go, a cordless ultrasonic cleaner designed specifically for everyday care of retainers, clear aligners, dentures, night guards and mouth guards.
A portable approach to oral-appliance cleaning
SonicPod Go uses 48 kHz ultrasonic cleaning technology and is designed around short, timed cleaning cycles.
According to the company, users can select:
- Quick Clean: 5-minute cycle
- Deep Clean: 10-minute cycle
- Clean Only: ultrasonic cleaning without the UV function
- UV Only: UV-C treatment mode
The device uses a one-button interface, with the remaining cleaning time displayed digitally.
This emphasis on simple, predefined cycles is intended to address one of the practical problems associated with oral-appliance care: consistency.
Designed for retainers, aligners and guards
The SonicPod Go has been developed specifically around removable oral appliances. The company lists applications including:
- Clear aligners ,Orthodontic retainers & Dentures
- Night guards & Sports mouth guards
The product combines a 200 mL tank, 48 kHz ultrasonic cleaning, 254 nm UV-C, four operating modes, IPX5 water resistance and cordless operation.
Cordless design targets everyday use
Unlike countertop cleaning devices that need to remain close to a power outlet, SonicPod Go is designed to be portable.
The product uses two 2000 mAh batteries and, according to company internal testing, can provide approximately 14 five-minute cycles on a full charge. USB-C charging is also included.
A storage bag is included as part of the kit.
Ultrasonic cleaning without making tablets mandatory
An interesting aspect of the product is its approach to cleaning solutions.
SonicPod Go can be used with water for routine ultrasonic cleaning. Cleaning tablets can also be used when additional cleaning support is desired, provided the formulation is compatible with the particular appliance.
This gives users an alternative to making chemical cleaning tablets part of every cleaning cycle.
However, dentists should still consider the manufacturer’s care instructions for individual orthodontic and prosthetic appliances. Not every cleaning method or chemical formulation is necessarily appropriate for every material.
